LEWISTON – On August 11, 2021, roughly 5:50 p.m., Idaho Point out Police responded to an personal injury crash, southbound US95 in the vicinity of milepost 278, in close proximity to Winchester, Idaho.

Idaho Transportation Office (ITD) was painting the roadway, triggering site visitors to slow in the region. Michael Cavin, 71, of Grangeville, Idaho, was touring southbound on US95 in a 2000 Lincoln Towncar. Cavin failed to observe the slowed targeted traffic, triggering him to cross into a northbound transform lane, in get to stay away from colliding with the rear car or truck. The northbound convert lane was occupied by the ITD paint cars and dismounted staff.

The crash is under investigation by the Idaho Point out Police.
